About Jana Halas

Jana Halas was born and educated in Prague, Czech Republic. Her field of specialization was Business and Customer Service. Once she completed her studies she took a position in a bank and worked in that capacity for four years. Then in 1997, Jana took a chance and decided to move to New York and it was at this time Jana’s life was to change, as this is where she met her future husband, Robert. Robert, a native of Poland, who had migrated to the US when he was a teenager, had just moved up to New York from Hilton Head Island due to the booming real estate market in NY. Jana and Robert dated for two years, and in 2000 they married and settled into life in Orange County in upstate New York.

 

Jana, now in a new country and experiencing a new lifestyle, had to find a job that she could develop and grow in. Jana decided that she would obtain a cosmetology license and worked for 15-plus years in a growing salon in the very popular and picturesque town of Warwick, NY. Then in 2014, when given the opportunity, Jana decided to try branching out and started her salon, which she ran successfully for the last four years. After 19 years in two salons, Jana had not only styled hair, but she had a rare opportunity to develop relationships with hundreds of men and women. She had their trust and they often told her about what they were looking for in a house or home and what was a good or poor real estate investment. It was through this exposure that Jana’s interest in selling real estate started to grow.

 

Although NY was home for many years, Robert, Jana, and their son, Brendon (10 years old) decided that the cold winters were not what they enjoyed anymore and decided to move to South Carolina. A few of Jana's friends and family had made the move to both Bluffton and the Hilton Head area, and after a few visits to the Lowcountry, they made their decision that Bluffton was the place to be. The Halas family is enjoying their winter without snow. Brendon is thriving in school/sporting activities and Robert had no issue in finding employment at one of the resorts on Hilton Head.

 

Jana’s attributes include speaking English, Czech, Slovakian, Polish, and some Russian. She will be an asset to both domestic and international clients. Jana has an outgoing, good-natured personality who will listen to what your needs are and pursue your requirements with the same zest and sense of adventure as she has in her own life. She loves long walks on the beach, water sports, good food, and discovering new adventures.
