Latila Slay was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, and has lived in the hostess city all her life. She graduated from Savannah High School and went on to attend Savannah State University. After graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in English, Latila began her career as a Third Grade teacher. Latila continued pursuing higher education, earning a master’s from Armstrong Atlantic University and a specialist and doctorate from Nova South Eastern University! She rose to the ranks of assistant principal five years ago and is currently serving in that capacity.
Although Latila’s background is in education, this career path is too rooted in customer service. She is meeting the needs of all the people she comes in contact with. Latila became a member of the Top Ladies of Distinction in 2019. This organization was founded on “Service.” Latila is actively involved with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, March of Dimes, and the Savannah Beautification Initiatives to name a few community services projects. When she is not on the job, she’s at church (First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist) where she has been a member for over 30 years. She has served as superintendent of Sunday school, teacher, mission member, usher, and choir member. Currently, she is the church clerk. As you can see Latila has always been a person who loves to serve her church, the youth, and her community!
In her spare time, Latila loves to travel, eat great food, sew, swim, and spend quality time with family and friends. Latila is married to Marion Slay, they have five beautiful children, one grandson, and one four-legged son! She desires to serve her community through real estate and help people reach their goals of homeownership and beyond. Latila is a people person, trustworthy, dependable, ambitious, and most importantly grateful. She is ready and willing to exceed your expectations!
