As a resident of Savannah for a few years now, I live in the perfect location. Savannah entices family and friends to come visit throughout the year and the question always arises, "What is the best place to eat?" Naturally, I want to make sure that they enjoy their time here. These are the top restaurants you must visit in Savannah.
The Collins Quarter
The Collins Quarter has two locations with two distinct views of Savannah. The first location is on the corner of Oglethorpe and Bull, allowing you to watch the local and tourist traffic of the day. Collins Quarter at Forsyth is located in the heart of Forsyth Park where you can enjoy the natural beauty of Savannah and its active community. Everything that I've tried at either location has been delicious, but I would personally recommend the CQ Burger and the Banas Foster French Toast.
The Wyld
If you are looking for a calm and laidback view, visit this restaurant on the water where the menu is unique and the drinks are a must-try. The Wyld is one of the few places that you can get to via boat. You can sit back and relax while peering out over the winding path of one of Savannah's waterways, marsh, and fresh vegetation. Drink of choice: The Pain Killer!
Tequila's Town
Tequila's Town is a go-to spot for affordable, quick, and satisfying food and drinks. This fun Mexican restaurant offers a great way to start the night with tasty frozen margaritas. From authentic dishes such as the Molcajete to classic ones like a quesadilla, this is one of the places to go that none of my friends and family ever have any complaints about.
The Grey
This restaurant is a cool place to try if you want to say that you went to a restaurant featured in Netflix's docuseries Chef's Table. Inside, you feel as though you are waiting on your bus as the restaurant is modeled to look like a Greyhound bus station from 1938. The best thing that I have had here has to be the market steak which was 42 oz. This was the perfect shareable meal for a date!
Crystal Beer Parlor
Stop by this restaurant to travel back in time for a while as you are surrounded by historical decor, newspapers, photos, and countless memorabilia. The beer choices are plenty and the food doesn't disappoint. My family's favorite was the Flounder Rueben, but I would suggest the She Crab Soup! Don't forget to order the best giant pretzel in Savannah as your appetizer, paired with smoked gouda beer cheese.
